Globe Tattoo Broadband Review
The other week our broadband internet suddenly slows down prompting me to find alternatives to our internet connection.
I was considering of buying a globe tattoo or smart prepaid to use it as an alternative for our internet connection. After googling for a review, I was able to find out that I can use my Nokia Cellphone to connect with a 3g network without buying their USB sticks. So here is the quick review for two 3g network.

Here’s a recap of what happen:
- A CSR told me that they will activate my sim for the 3g network. They told me to wait within 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, I told them I still cannot connect despite that I have already downloaded the latest Nokia suite. They told me to wait another 24 hours.
- Couple of days later, I tried to establish a connection again but unfortunately I still wasn’t able to connect to the Internet. I called globe again and they told me that repairs are being done in the area, they told me call again before trying to connect so that prepaid load will not be deducted.
- After 24 hours I called Globe again, they told me to change the access point from http.globe.com.ph to www.globe.com.ph. Alas! I was able to connect but cannot open any web page. By the way, once connected it is already eating up my balance. The csr told me to wait another 24 hours before trying to connect.
- The next day, I still cannot browse any webpage but my balance is being eaten up. So I decided to went to a Globe business center hoping that there is a “technical” person that can help. But unfortunately, after tinkering with my laptop they were still not able to fixed it. They just told me to wait again for 24 hours and change the configuration back to http.globe.com.ph
- Next day, I was able to connect to the 3g internet using my cellphone as modem but unluckily, the connection is not good enough to open a webpage or even login to YM.
Globe is turtle speed or you might say it… no speed at all.
Smart Bro USB Review

Since I am a globe user, I bought a smart sim to connect to 3g network using my Nokia phone as modem. After setting it up in the Nokia suite, wallah I have a internet connection without making any additional configuration or calling the CSR of smart.
Here’s the speed test for smart although it is much slower than our internet connection it might be a good alternative just in case our internet bogged down again.

By the way, I have tried the PLDT vibe prepaid dial-up it is much faster than connecting to 3g.
If you are using a smart or globe broadband internet please feel free to comment.
